How QR Code Generator works
QR codes are generated entirely in your browser using the qrcode.js library. No data is sent to any server — the encoded content never leaves your device. MonitorGiant does not track what you encode.
- 1
Choose a QR code type
Select from URL, WiFi credentials, vCard contact, plain text, or UPI payment. The input fields update to match the selected type.
- 2
Fill in the details
For WiFi, enter SSID, password, and security type. For vCard, enter name, phone, email, and organisation. For URLs, paste or type the link. The QR code updates live.
- 3
Choose a style and colours
Pick Square (maximum compatibility), Rounded, Dots, or Classy styles. Set foreground and background colours. Use swap or reset to quickly flip or return to black-and-white defaults.
- 4
Download with MonitorGiant branding
Click Download PNG to save a print-ready file with a subtle "Created free at MonitorGiant Tools" line below the QR code. The branding is honest attribution — scannable QR code area is unaffected.
QR code generation is entirely client-side using the open-source qrcode.js library. The content you encode — including WiFi passwords and contact details — is never transmitted to MonitorGiant or any third party.
Need a free QR code generator for a URL, WiFi password, or contact card? QR codes are two-dimensional barcodes readable by any smartphone camera. WiFi QR codes let guests connect to a network by scanning — no password typing. vCard QR codes encode a full contact record so scanning adds the person directly to the phone's address book. This tool generates codes at four sizes (128px–512px) in light or dark colour schemes and lets you download the PNG directly — no account, no watermark.
Frequently asked questions — QR Code Generator
Which style has the best scanner compatibility?
Square (the default) has the highest compatibility across all QR scanners, including older devices and low-resolution cameras. Rounded and Dots styles work well with modern smartphone cameras. Avoid very dark backgrounds or very low contrast colours regardless of style.
What is Error Correction and which level should I use?
Error correction allows a QR code to be scanned even when partially obscured or damaged. L (7%) is smallest. M (15%) is the default — good for clean print. Q (25%) and H (30%) are useful if you plan to add a logo over the centre. Higher correction = more modules = larger/denser QR.
How do I create a WiFi QR code?
Select the WiFi type, enter your network name (SSID), password, and security type (WPA, WPA2, or WEP). Android and iOS both support scanning WiFi QR codes natively through the camera app — no additional app needed.
Can I add my own logo to the centre?
Not directly in this tool — but you can download the PNG and overlay a logo in any image editor. Use Error Correction H (30%) so the QR remains scannable with the centre covered.
