Optimisation tips

What is a SERP preview?
A SERP (Search Engine Results Page) preview shows you how your page will appear in Google search results — including the blue title link, the green breadcrumb URL, and the grey meta description snippet. Seeing this before publishing helps you write titles and descriptions that are the right length and compelling enough to earn clicks.
How long should a page title be for SEO?
Google displays titles up to approximately 600 pixels wide, which corresponds to around 50–60 characters for typical fonts. Titles longer than this are truncated with "…". Keep your most important keyword and brand name within the first 55 characters for best results.
How long should a meta description be?
Google typically shows 140–160 characters of a meta description in desktop results and slightly fewer on mobile. Descriptions longer than this are cut off. Note that Google may rewrite your description if it determines its own version is more relevant to the search query.
Does Google always use the meta description I write?
No. Google may replace your meta description with a passage from your page content if it thinks the passage better matches the user's query. Writing a clear, descriptive meta description still helps because Google uses it for many queries, and a good description improves click-through rate when it is shown.
Does having a good title and description improve my ranking?
The title tag is a confirmed ranking factor — having your target keyword in the title helps Google understand what your page is about. The meta description is not a direct ranking factor, but a compelling description improves click-through rate (CTR), which can indirectly boost your rankings over time.
What is the breadcrumb URL in search results?
The breadcrumb (shown in green text beneath the title) is how Google displays your URL. It converts your URL path into a readable format, for example "tools.monitorgiant.com › serp-preview". Google may reformat your URL for display and may sometimes show category breadcrumbs from your site's structured data instead.
