Container Workload Cost Estimator
Estimate container hosting costs at peak load — across Kubernetes-managed platforms (EKS, GKE, AKS, DOKS) and self-managed clusters. Upload a Kubernetes YAML spec or fill a form to instantly compare AWS, GCP, Azure, DigitalOcean, and Hetzner pricing side by side. Snapshot pricing, no real-time API calls, no account required.
Pricing disclaimer: Rates shown are on-demand, per-hour USD estimates based on a snapshot fetched on 2026-06-04. Actual costs vary by region, instance family, reserved/spot pricing, and provider changes. Always verify with your provider's official calculator before making financial decisions. What is Container Workload Cost Estimator?
A container workload is any application packaged into one or more Docker-style containers and scheduled by a container orchestrator — Kubernetes (K8s), AWS ECS, Google Cloud Run, Docker Swarm, Nomad, or a self-managed cluster. Understanding what it costs to run that workload — especially during traffic peaks when auto-scaling kicks in — is critical for infrastructure planning. This tool estimates monthly node hosting costs at both baseline and peak load, across five container-hosting platforms, entirely in your browser with no real-time API calls and no account required.
How to use this tool
- 1 Choose your input method: fill the form for quick ad-hoc estimates, or upload / paste a Kubernetes Deployment, StatefulSet, or Helm values YAML for an automated parse.
- 2 If using the form: add each container with its CPU request (in millicores), memory request (in Mi), and base replica count.
- 3 Select a container platform and the nearest region for accurate pricing.
- 4 Pick a peak load scenario — Low (1.5×), Moderate (3×), or High (5×) replicas — or let the tool auto-detect from your HPA maxReplicas field in YAML.
- 5 Click Calculate / Parse & Estimate to see a full platform comparison table plus a per-container breakdown.
- 6 Review the Assumptions card at the top of results — every estimation decision is clearly stated so you can trust or adjust the numbers.
When would you use this?
- Budgeting a new containerised service before writing a line of infrastructure code.
- Comparing whether to use a managed Kubernetes platform (EKS/GKE/AKS) versus a budget container hosting service (DigitalOcean/Hetzner) for a given workload size.
- Estimating the marginal cost of auto-scaling before a product launch or marketing event.
- Communicating container infrastructure costs to non-technical stakeholders without requiring access to any provider console.
